Wondering how to do moms’ ministry in a hybrid setting?

Mom to Mom Online

The Mom to Mom program is easily adapted to a virtual meeting format . . . and

Mom to Mom will provide free access to view video lessons online this year!

In an effort to support you as you offer a hybrid Mom to Mom program this year—or perhaps even one that is fully online—we’re offering free access to the Mom to Mom curriculum videos if you have already purchased the DVD series or Vimeo series.

Online Access to Mom to Mom Video Lessons

Online access provides greater flexibility to Mom to Mom programs that may want to offer a hybrid model in which not everyone gathers in a large group to watch the video lessons together. There may be some Mom to Mom small groups that choose to gather in a private home to watch the video lesson and then go through the discussion questions together.

The moms who are planning to participate remotely can watch the video lessons on their own at their convenience, and then gather online with their small groups on a videoconferencing platform to connect and discuss that lesson together.

Childcare Options

Mom to Mom groups that choose to gather in homes to watch and discuss the video lessons together may want to bring in a babysitter to provide childcare on site.  Groups that choose to meet entirely online, with moms in their individual homes, could consider providing some kind of video-based Christian education curriculum to occupy the children while their moms participate in their small group discussion.  Check with the children’s ministry team at your local church for recommendations.

Member Books for each Mom to Mom Curriculum

We suggest that groups continue to purchase member books for every mom participating in the Mom to Mom program. This is especially important now that many moms will be viewing each week’s lesson on their own. The member books contain helpful outlines, discussion questions and “Reflections” pages that will guide each mom in her journey through the lesson content.

Leader Guides

There are also important support materials for your Mom to Mom leaders. Be sure to read through your Administrative Guide and Titus 2 Leader Guide, which provide helpful guidelines for making Mom to Mom groups run smoothly.

New Opportunities for Community and Connection

Though in-person Mom to Mom meetings are clearly our top desire, there are some unforeseen benefits of the remote viewing model.  Some moms have watched the video lessons at home with their husbands, which has led to meaningful conversations and an unexpected “date night” each week. Some moms have connected with their small groups by meeting at parks and playgrounds as local guidelines allow. Other groups have held weekly open Zoom meetings, providing a place for the moms to drop in to chat or to seek support.

Step-by-Step Guidance

We know that in recent years, new online opportunities have emerged for serving our church communities and the people in our neighborhoods. However, community connection is more important now than ever before, so we applaud your investment in the moms and families in your communities! Be sure to read our Step-by-Step Guide for Virtual Mom to Mom Meetings.
