Mom To Mom Newsletters
Aug. 16, 2010
"Be a center for Jesus Christ to pour living water through." I love those words from Oswald Chambers (My Utmost for His Highest, August 31 reading). Are you ready to do that again this year at Mom to Mom? Or maybe, if you're a new Titus 2 leader, for the first time at Mom to Mom?
It's that time of year again, when there are a few lovely days (or maybe not-so-lovely, if you are amidst one of this summer's heat waves) of summer left, but Fall lurks just around the corner. You may - or may not - be feeling ready for it.
Let me tell, you the moms are! Many are counting down the days till school starts, as one of my neighbors just reminded me, in between driving in and out of her driveway for the umpteenth time shuttling her four daughters in all directions. Some are just looking forward to the resumption of Fall routines for their preschoolers. But lots of them would echo a mom in an email I received this week: "I can't wait for Mom to Mom to start again. It can't come soon enough!"
Whether you as a leader feel ready to start Mom to Mom again or not, here's the good news: You do not have to be everything to these moms. You are not called to be Jesus to them. You are called to be a "center through which He can pour living water." He supplies the water. We show up! He says so in Isaiah 58:11, one of my favorite verses: "The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." (NKJV)
My prayer for each of you as you prepare for Mom to Mom start-ups (or new Mom to Moms) is that you will draw on the Living Water and let it flow through you to thirsty moms. And as you do that, He will strengthen your bones!
